Support - Screen Color

Why does the app need camera access?

The app calculates color temperature (Kelvin) by analyzing real-time light data via the camera sensor. No photos or videos are stored or shared.

How do I measure my screen's temperature?

Point the camera at a neutral/white area of your display from a distance of about 10-30 cm. Keep the device steady for a few seconds for the reading to stabilize.

Why is my Mac reading always 0 Kelvin?

Some Mac built-in cameras do not support hardware white-balance readout. In this case, the app will automatically use its pixel-based calculation for an estimated result.

How accurate are the results?

On iPhones, the app leverages factory-calibrated hardware gains for high precision. On other systems, it uses the advanced CIE 1931 color science model.
